Disable CD /DVD/ removable storage and floppy drives GPO

Cd/Dvd and removable storage device block is very important. In case a user plug a Virus and malware infected pen drive in a computer in that case it’s infect all your networks.

Using windows GPO you can block the Cd/Dvd and removable storage device which system in are domain.

 IT team able to disable Cd/Dvd and removable storage device using GPO.

For configure that policy:-

Login on your domain controller and click on start-Run and type gpmc.msc and press enter.

After press enter open new windows Group Policy Management Editor go to User Configuration >Policies >Administrative Templates >System

For CD and DVD block

In the right panel CD and Dvd: deny read access Double click on

Click “Enabled” to enable the policy

and apply and ok

In the right panel CD and Dvd: deny write access Double click on

Click “Enabled” to enable the policy

and apply and ok

In the right panel All Removable storage Classes: Deny all access Double click on

Click “Enabled” to enable the policy

and apply and ok
