Connect to FTP Server in Windows

How to Connect to FTP Servers in Windows

If you need to connect an FTP server in windows computer you can install third-party software and connect the FTP with lots of features. but if you don't want to install third-party software to connect the FTP server in windows computer. you can file explorer and connect the FTP using the following steps.  

The windows file manager also know as file explorer on windows allows us to connect the FTP server.

Press Windows key + e for file explorer.


Type your FTP IP address Like FTP://10.0.0.217 and press enter.


You get a Log on As screen type user name password and click on Log on.


You can also connect the FTP server, My computer (This pc name in windows 10) or Right-click in the right pane and select Add a network location.


When Add Network Location screen appears click on Next.

Select Choose a custom network location and click on Next.


Type IP address (ftp://10.0.0.217) in Internet or Network Address and click on Next.


Check the box Log on anonymously (You can also type here a user name )and click on Next.


You will ll now be asked to enter a name for the network location type a name click on Next.


If you want to open FTP after finish the steps check the box open this network location when I click Finish and click on Finish 


You get a Log on As screen type user name password and click on Log on
