How to install Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) on Windows 10


Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) is a new feature in windows 10. That enables users to run native Linux command-line tools directly on Windows 10, alongside your traditional Windows desktop and modern store apps. if you need to enable and install Windows subsystem for Linux (WSL)  use the following steps.

Install Windows Subsystem for Linux using  Windows Settings.

1. Click on start and select Settings.

2. When windows settings open, Click on Apps.

3. Under the "Related settings" option, click on Programs and Features option.

4. When program and features window open click on Turn Windows features on or off option.

5. Check the Windows Subsystem for Linux option and click on OK.


6. Once features installation completed restart the computer.  




Once the following steps completed, the environment will be configured to download and run the distros of Linux on Windows 10.

Installing Linux using Microsoft Store


1. Open Microsoft Store and login with Microsoft account. if you already login with Microsoft account on your computer in that case you not need to login again for Microsoft app download.

2. Search for the Linux distribution that you want to install on your computer.

3. Select the distro of Linux that you want to install on your computer.


4. click on Get for install Kali Linux.



5. .After installation completed Click on the Launch button.

6. Create a username for the Linux distro and press Enter.

7. set a password for the distro and press Enter.

8. Retype the password and press Enter for confirm the password .

After you complete the steps, you can start using the distro as any other flavor of Linux
