Mstsc.exe is the inbuilt client software that allows connecting to a computer via Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) in Windows operating systems. It permits a user to connect to another PC and access the Desktop of a remote host. The local computer is often referred to as the "client". If you have running Windows operating system, in most cases users use mstsc.exe to connect to another computer with RDP. Mstsc is working on 3389 TCP/UDP Port.

mstsc.exe [<connectionfile>] [/v:<server>[:<port>]] [/admin] [/f] [/w:<width> /h:<height>] [/public] [/span]

mstsc.exe /edit <connectionfile>

mstsc.exe /migrate





If you need to connect a remote host use following steps


1. Click on windows key type mstsc and click on Remote Desktop Connection




2. When Remote Desktop Connection open type IP Address or hostname of destination computer and click on Connect




If you need to connect a remote host as admin use following steps


1. Click on windows key+R type mstsc /admin Press enter for  Remote Desktop Connection




2. When Remote Desktop Connection open type IP Address or hostname of destination computer and click on Connect
